Builder standard is a starting point, not a finish

Nearly every new flat we walk into in Jahangirpura has the same shortcomings, because they come from the same commercial logic: the minimum number of points, a board with no spare ways, one light point per room and no thought given to where a bed or a television will go.

None of that is a defect — it is simply the base specification. The gap between that and a home that works is a day or two of planned electrical work, and it costs far less at the empty-flat stage than after the carpentry is in.

We also see a fair number of interiors in progress, where our job is to coordinate with the false-ceiling and carpentry teams so the light cut-outs, cove runs and appliance points all land where the designer intended.
