Terms of service

The terms on which Wire Men Electrical Services provides electrical work in Surat, and the basis on which the advice published here is offered.

Last updated: 1 September 2026

About these terms

These terms cover the use of wiremen.in and the electrical services provided by Wire Men Electrical Services. Booking work with us means accepting them. Nothing here removes any right you have under Indian consumer law.

Quotations and pricing

We tell you the cost before work starts. For small repairs that figure is confirmed on site once the fault has been identified; for larger jobs we provide an itemised quotation in advance.

A quotation covers the work described in it. If we find something during the job that was not visible beforehand — damage inside a wall, a board in worse condition than it appeared — we stop and explain the position before continuing, so the decision is yours.

  • Emergency, night and public-holiday visits carry a call-out charge on top of the repair
  • That call-out figure is stated on the telephone before we set off
  • Quotations are valid for thirty days unless stated otherwise
  • Where materials are supplied by us, the price is included in the quotation

Booking, access and cancellation

Appointment times are estimates. Electrical fault finding does not run to a fixed clock, and an earlier job occasionally overruns. If we are going to be late we tell you rather than leaving you waiting.

Please make sure we can reach the work — that the distribution board is accessible, that furniture in the way can be moved, and that someone over eighteen is present. If we cannot access the property or the work area on an agreed visit, a call-out charge may still apply.

Let us know as early as you can if you need to cancel or rearrange. We will do the same for you.

Emergency call-outs

The emergency line is for genuine electrical faults: loss of power, repeated tripping, burning smells, sparking, shocks or visible damage. We attend as quickly as we can, but response times depend on where you are, what else is in progress and the conditions on the road.

Some emergency visits end with the installation made safe rather than fully repaired — for example where a part is needed or where the work is better done in daylight. Where that is the case we explain it at the time and agree the follow-up visit with you.

Materials and equipment

Materials we supply are covered by the manufacturer's own warranty, which we will pass on to you.

We are happy to install fittings and equipment you have bought yourself. In that case we cannot warrant the item, and if it turns out to be faulty, incomplete or unsuitable for the position, the labour to diagnose and replace it is chargeable. We will always tell you before starting if something you have supplied looks unsuitable.

Workmanship

We stand behind the work we do. If something we installed or repaired fails because of how we did it, tell us and we will put it right.

That does not extend to unrelated faults elsewhere in an installation, to pre-existing conditions we advised you about, to damage caused by others after we left, or to failures caused by supply problems, water ingress or misuse.

Building work and making good

Where a job requires chasing walls or cutting ceilings, we cut neatly and refill the chase so the surface is level. Final plaster finishing, painting and decorative repair are civil work and are not included unless specifically agreed in writing.

Concealed cables and pipes are not always where drawings say they are, and in older properties there are often no drawings. We take reasonable care, and we cannot accept liability for unavoidable disturbance to concealed services that were not identifiable beforehand.

Advice published on this website

The articles and guidance on this site are written to help you understand what is happening in your installation and to make better decisions. They are general information, not an inspection of your property.

No article here should be treated as an instruction to carry out electrical work yourself. Every installation differs, and something that is straightforward in one property can be dangerous in another. If you are unsure, isolate the circuit and call an electrician.
